Top 5 Most Unstoppable Moves in NBA History

In the history of the NBA, there are so many moves that have been popularized by a player that helped them to be known around the world. There are also NBA legends who popularized unstoppable signature moves that brought them to another level of play and recognition.

Here are the top 5 most unstoppable moves in the history of the NBA.

5. Hakeem Olajuwon’s Dream Shake

Hakeem Olajuwon is one of the best offensive players among his positions in his era. Actually, he loved to play soccer and his signature move “Dream shake” was translated from it. Dream Shake is one of the most unstoppable moves as it needs footwork to execute it.

Until now, it is still in use by the likes of Joel Embiid. Performing this is so effective for him in the post as he can fake the defender to make an open line to the basket

Hakeem Olajuwon’s footwork is so smooth and sick, he moves faster than his defender that’s why he’s able to shoot the ball so easily.

4. James Harden’s Stepback Three-Pointers

Step-back was already used in the 20th century and it was pioneered by Michael Jordan. He’s using this move on his jumpers to make space away from the defender.

James Harden developed the move and made a devastating NBA signature move of his own, the stepback three-pointers. The Beard maximizes the potential of stepback without violating the NBA rules and he used it to his advantage.

The move can make space by stepping backward away from the defender. It causes rumors and gossip if this is a traveling violation before the association explains why it’s not and also what the “zero steps” is. James Harden is reaching 35 or more points per game because of this.

Despite being unstoppable, James Harden is yet to win a championship up to this date or at least reach the NBA Finals.

3. Stephen Curry’s Long-Ranged Threes

Long-ranged threes were popularized by Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry. Since his arrival to this league, he changed the pace of the game by using these killer three-pointers. His long-ranged bombs will force the defenders to guard him as soon as he passed the half-court line.

His quick release along with his ball-handling and shooting range causes confusion to the defender about whether he’ll pull the trigger or not. He can shoot anywhere on the court literally that’s why he is named as one of the best shooters ever.

This move helped him win 3 championship rings and 2 MVP awards. He also prevented LeBron James from reigning the decade.

2. Michael Jordan’s Fadeaway

Michael Jordan is arguably the best player to ever play in the NBA. He pioneered fadeaway jumpers that were later on used by Kobe Bryant. His signature move held him to the peak of the GOAT list.

Fadeaway is so popular that until now many players were using it. Some of the players like Dirk Nowitzki developed it and made their own signature move, the one-legged fadeaway.

Jordan garnered 6 championship rings and 9 MVPs. He also reached 32,000 career points, proving that his fadeaway is really an unstoppable move in history.

1. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar‘s Skyhook

Skyhook originated from the movie “Hook shot” which was introduced by NBA Hall of Famer George Mikan during his time with DePaul University. It was later developed by Kareem Abdul Jabbar who used it like his own.

Skyhook is the most unstoppable move not only in the NBA but in the history of basketball. No one can use it efficiently other than the living legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. He’s currently the NBA’s all-time leader in total career points, scoring 38,387.

There was no other player who tried to copy it as it is inefficient to use. He’s the only one who can efficiently use it because of his height and long arms.

KAJ is a 6-time NBA champion, 6-time NBA MVP, 2-time Finals MVP, 19-time NBA All-Star, 15-time All-NBA selection, and 11-time All-Defensive selection. His “skyhook” is one of a kind as of now as nobody tried to do it or at least developed it.Β

I fell in love with the game of basketball at 15 years old. I am an avid fan of the Chicago Bulls as I am from the windy city!
