Do 2nd-Generation Draft Prospects get an Edge from NBA scouts?

Do 2nd-Generation Draft Prospects get an Edge from NBA scouts? An enviable number of basketball players whose fathers were fantastic players who recorded huge successes in the strongest basketball league in the world followed the same path as their famous parents. When you are the son of a great basketball star, then it carries with it a huge burden and pressure, and quite unexpectedly, a certain number of players succumb to that pressure and do not achieve such a brilliant career. On the other hand, precisely because famous parents have gone through a lot during their careers, they know how to relieve their children from that kind of pressure and tell them to just enjoy sports without any pressure to make any result similar to the successes their parents have made.

It is the fact that parents or some other people put pressure on their children to succeed in sports that can be a big problem.

Parents often fail to realize some of their dreams and then try to cure some of their personal frustrations through their children. If you are the son of a famous basketball star, then it can very easily happen that you also have that winning gene, but that doesn’t have to be the case at all, and most often the situation is like that.

We all know what a star Michael Jordan was who as a field leader led the famous generation of Chicago Bulls who won six titles and his sons also began their basketball journey that was nowhere near as famous as that of their legendary father. To be honest, Jeffrey and Marcus Jordan could hardly ever achieve what their father did because such basketball talent and the winner are born once. Far from Jeffrey and Marcus not being talented,

it was very difficult to get out of the shadow of the great and famous father who made incredible successes. Marcus won the title for Whitney Young and both brothers played for UCF but after a couple of seasons, they left that team and basketball so they never played in the league where their father became famous. Marcus and Jeffrey arenโ€™t the only ones to take a similar path as their father because they are also the sons of some other famous basketball players like Lebron James. On this occasion, we bring you a few names whose famous fathers used to write NBA history pages, and which we could see in the same league in the coming years. It would be very interesting to see the situation of seeing LeBron and his son in the NBA at the same time, which is not impossible at all, because LeBron plays great at the age of 37 and it is still unknown when he will end his career. His son Broony, for example, is 17 years old and has huge potential.

ย Jordan Lowery: Allen Iverson

Allen Iverson is one of the best point guards to ever play in the NBA. The popular “Al” and “The Answer” played 14 seasons in the NBA. Iverson has made 11 All-Star appearances and was named Rookie of the Year in his first season in 1997. He was the most valuable player in the league in 2001. He was the best scorer in the NBA several times, although he never won the championship title. Iverson has been voted the best team in the league three times. Al was the best in the league three times when it comes to stolen balls. The number three jersey he wore to the Philadelphia 76-ers was withdrawn from use. He started and finished his NBA career in that club, and it is especially interesting that he ended his career in Turkey, where he wore the Besiktas jersey. After his career, Iverson came into the public spotlight due to huge financial problems, and he often had problems with the law.

He was once even accused of kidnapping his own children. Iverson has five sons and only one of them went the same way as him. Itโ€™s still early for the NBA but his son Jordan Lowery has a talent that could potentially one day lead to the NBA. At just 11 years old, Lowery was named the best player of the fourth grade in the country. Even then, Lowery showed that he has a fantastic crossover dribble that was already better than most much older or even adult players. At that time, it was already possible to recognize whose son he was and to carry with him everything that his widely known father provided on the field. The action ends in a similar way as his father with the well-known floater. Jordan shoots great for three points, and he also plays great with his teammates. With hard work and training, he could reach the stars touched by his father because he currently has all the predispositions for it and in the coming years we can only expect him to further progress and one day see him in the NBA as his father. Jordan Lowery is currently a member of Drive Nation, a highly competitive traveling AAU basketball program.

Jaxon Williams: Jason Williams

Jason Williams, known by the nickname “White Chocolate”, is remembered for his great games at the Sacramento Kings at the end of the last and the beginning of this century. He then played for several other NBA teams such as the Memphis Grizzlies, the Miami Heat, and the Orlando Magic where he ended his career. He had a great time both on and off the field because he was a real showman. He was a really interesting character and a very eccentric character. He was recognizable for his great dribbles and unprecedented assists, although he was also a great shooter. His game was in keeping with his character. Jason managed to crown his great career with the championship ring he won by wearing the Miami Heat jersey.

His son, Jaxon, who was born during the period when his father was making his way in the strongest basketball league in the world, also wore the Sacramento Kings jersey. Jaxon not only started his basketball career as his father but his style of play is in many ways similar to what Dad Jason did on the court. At one time, videos appeared on the Internet of his son breaking articles with his peers in fantastic dribbles, the same ones that his father showed on the field. What is especially interesting is that his father was his coach. Jaxon brought to perfection the moves his father also made such as the fake behind the back, and the elbow swing pass, which became a hallmark of the Williams basketball family. It would be really fantastic if one day we had the opportunity to see Jaxon in the NBA and crawl all the basketball skills he obviously inherited from his father.

ย Broony James: LeBron James

LeBron James is considered one of the best basketball players of all time who had the opportunity to play in the strongest basketball league in the world. What is very interesting is that his career in the NBA is still going on and there is no end in sight, even though he is already 37 years old. During his rich NBA career, LeBron played for several clubs and in each of them, he managed to win at least one championship ring. “King James” has won four championship rings so far and every time he won the championship ring he was also the MVP in the final. He managed to bring the long-awaited title to the Cleveland Cavaliers and in addition won two championship rings with the Miami Heat and another ring with the Los Angeles Lakers. LeBron has performed as many as eighteen times at the NBA All-Star, and as things stand, we will see him again at this prestigious event.

LeBron is another famous basketball player whose son has followed similar paths as his father, who along with Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan ranks among the best basketball players of all time. LeBron Raymone โ€œBroonyโ€ James Jr. decided to follow the same path as his father. He is the eldest son of a famous basketball player who, despite being in the fifth decade of his life, still provides great games. “Broony” is currently performing as a point guard at Sierra Canyon High School. Already when he was nine years old, his enormous talent was recognized. Believe it or not, some colleges have given him scholarships since the age of 10, which his father also criticized because he marked the fact that recruiting players at the age of only 10 as violence.

His father knows what professional sports bring with him, but it is really excessive to treat a boy of only ten years in that way. “Broony” is only 17 years old, but he already feels the game is a fantastic way, just like his father. He is an excellent shooter and also greatly assists his teammates, including another guy we will mention on this occasion, who is the son of his father’s former teammate, Dwyane Wade. Like his father, he is known for weak-side blocks, great breakthroughs and extremely selfless play. He used to wear 0 on the jersey because he loved Russell Westbrook very much, and then he changed the number to 23 in honor of his father. LeBron probably still doesn’t want to end his career in order to have the opportunity to play with or against his son one day, and there is a real chance that something like that will happen one day, regardless of the fact that the age difference is almost two decades.

Zaire Wade

Finally, we will mention the guy we mentioned in the previous part when we talked about LeBron and his son. It is Zaire Wade whose father Dwyane Wade has had great success in tandem with LeBron. Dwyane Wade played in the Miami Heat for most of his career, and he achieved his greatest success when the aforementioned LeBron also played for the Florida team. Together with him, Chris Bosh won two championship rings. At that time, the Heat were a very dominant team and Wade won the first championship ring with the mentioned team in 2006. He started and ended his career in Miami Heat. In addition to three championship rings and one MVP title, Wade has competed in the NBA All-Star 13 times. His jersey number 3 has been withdrawn from use.

Wade was really lucky to play at the same time with one of the best basketball players of all time because his career would almost certainly not be so successful. What is particularly interesting is that his son, as we mentioned, attended the same high school as the aforementioned LeBron son, “Broony” in Sierra Canyon high school. He is a few years older than LeBron’s son and was given the opportunity to play in the NBA G League, where he wore the Salt Lake City Stars jersey last season. Unfortunately, he had an injury problem which is why he was waived. He generally has a leadership role like his father. He also has everything that his father owned. Zaire like his father Dwyane has a great cross-over dribble as well as a great breakthrough towards the basket.

There is also recognizable step back and jump shots for either two or three points as well as great assists for open shots. Considering that he is the oldest on this list of names, he has reached the farthest distance so far, and we will see if he will be hired by an NBA team in the coming seasons. Unfortunately, his father retired, so we will not have the opportunity to watch the two of them together or against each other on the field. Dwyane and Lebron were great friends and teammates, and we will see which way their sons will go, who already have very good bases for their future careers, and for which famous fathers and a winning mentality certainly have a huge influence.

I fell in love with the game of basketball at 15 years old. I am an avid fan of the Chicago Bulls as I am from the windy city! This blog was created as a side hobby during my sophomore year in college and I have stuck with it ever since. I do hope you enjoy the content and please be sure to follow us on Facebook and never miss a post!
