LeBron Raymone James Sr and his NBA Championship Rings

LeBron Raymone James Sr and his NBA Championship Rings. The ultimate goal of every NBA player is winning the championship with his team and receiving the championship ring which at the end of their career makes the difference between the winners and all the others.

NBA championship rings have been handed out since the first NBA Finals in 1947 and just like everything else, have seen major improvements during the years.

Nowadays, the rings are designed by the most famous designers and encrusted with jewels to reflect the prestige of winning an NBA title.

NBA championship rings are made of silver or gold and feature the team name and the logo or a symbol, the year the championship was won, the name of the player, the NBA logo, and the words โ€˜world championsโ€™.

In the modern era, the rings are handed to the defending champions during the team’s first home game each season. The players who have left the championship team in the following offseason, receive their rings the first time they visit with their new team.

You probably ask yourself which player has won the most rings and the answer on that is Bill Russel, who has won 11 rings playing for the Celtics.

Phil Jackson has won 11 as a coach, six with the Bulls, and five with the Lakers, and when we add the two rings he won with the Knicks as a player in the 1970s, that makes him the person with most rings in total โ€“ 13.

Still, many fans are focused on the current players and are probably wondering how many rings has LeBron James won, and in this article, we wonโ€™t answer just that question but will offer you a deep look at how โ€˜Kingโ€™ Jamesโ€™ rings look like.

LeBron Raymone James Sr and his NBA Championship Rings

How many rings does LeBron Raymone James Sr have?ย LeBron James has won four championship rings so far, and what makes him unique is that he did that with three different teams. He won back-to-back rings with the Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013, then brought the title to Cleveland in 2016 and finally with the Lakers in 2020.

So, let see how he achieve that and take a deeper look at those precious pieces of jewelry.

2012 Miami Heat NBA Championship Ring

In 2010 free agency, LeBron James made a real drama on his decision of where he is going to continue his career, and he got the hate from many when he decided to take his talents to the Miami Heat, not as much as for the decision itself as for the way he announced it.

LeBron and Chris Bosh joined Dwayne Wade in Miami that summer and the Heat immediately became the top contenders but ran on Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks who won the title even though the Heat were 2-0 up in the finals series.

Anyway, the following year LeBron and co. dominated the league defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder in the finals in five games.

The ring that LeBron James received for his first championship features the Larry Oโ€™Brien NBA championship trophy in 14-karat yellow and gold featuring one round half karat brilliant cur diamond set in the basketball of the trophy.

The Heat basketball logo is set atop the trophy and is set with 31 round brilliant cut diamonds. The words โ€œWorld championsโ€™ frame the top of the ring surrounded by 46 custom-cut pieces of diamonds. Flush and set around the rest of the ring top are 98 round brilliant cut diamonds with his last name James on the side.

2013 Miami Heat NBA Championship Ring

The Heat showed their real power in the 2012-13 season making the second-longest winning streak of 27 games. They finished the regular season with a franchise-best 66-16 record with LeBron James winning his fourth regular-season MVP award.

The playoffs started smoothly for the Heat losing only one game through the first two rounds and then playing a Game 7 against the Indiana Pacers in the East finals.

Gregg Popovich and the San Antonio Spurs were waiting in the finals and things went their way taking a 3-2 lead. Then followed one of the most famous playoff moments as Ray Allen hit a desperate three-pointer to take Game 6 into overtime and the Heat to eventually win their second consecutive championship.

Rumor has it that LeBron James still occasionally calls Ray Allen to thank him for hitting that shot.

The 2013 NBA Championship ring features two trophies made up of diamonds with the word โ€˜familyโ€™ beneath them.

As team president and NBA legend, Pat Riley put it, โ€œItโ€™s symbolic of something thatโ€™s bigger than just the championship in that itโ€™s 300 people in the organization versus just 15 players.โ€

The flip side features an outlined trophy with the player’s name, the words โ€œback-to-backโ€ around it, and the Chinese symbol for โ€œsacrificeโ€ underneath.

Why Chinese? The Heatโ€™s season began in China and many players sacrificed money and playing time during critical contract years to win a consecutive title.

Finally, the top of the ring shows the Heat name placed over their trophies.

2016 Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Championship Ring

After four consecutive finals appearances and two championships, LeBron went back home to Cleveland to bring the city the first championship ever.

To make their achievement even bigger, the Cavs become the first team in NBA history to come back from a 3-1 deficit in the finals series to win the championship.

LeBronโ€™s block on Andre Iguodala with two minutes to go in Game 7 will be remembered as one of the greatest playoff moments in NBA history.

The top of the Cleveland Cavaliers 2016 NBA Championship ring has the most bling. A total of 216 diamonds were used, a nod to the teamโ€™s area code. The Cavโ€™s logo is in the center, wrapped around the Larry Oโ€™Brien Trophy. The logo is made of garnet.

The trophy is the centerpiece of the top. Itโ€™s made of 14K yellow gold while the basketball on top is made from a one karat diamond. The background of all this has another 100 diamonds, one for each of the franchiseโ€™s postseason wins before finally taking it all. โ€œWorld Championsโ€ is also outlined with diamonds. The left side of each ring has the Cleveland skyline.

The Roman numeral under the Detroit-Superior Bridge is intentional. Itโ€™s the number 52, which is the number of years the team failed to win the NBA Championship. Above the skyline is a banner with the specific playerโ€™s number done with more diamonds. โ€œCLEโ€ is at the bottom in gold. The other side of the ring has more customization with the playerโ€™s name done in gold.

2020 Los Angeles Lakers Championship Ring

LeBron James added his fourth championship ring in 2020, in his second season with the Los Angeles Lakers.

That NBA season was in jeopardy as the coronavirus locked up all sports events around the world but the NBA found a way to finish the season in the bubble in Orlando.

LeBron played excellent in the finals series against the Miami Heat winning the Finals MVP trophy.

Each Laker received a ring that has more carats of diamonds than any other ring in NBA History.

The rings were completed for opening night in a record-breaking time of one month from the time the design was finalized.

The ring has a total of 804 stones and 15.50 carats of white and yellow diamonds. Another .95 carats feature Lakers purple Amethyst stones. It is complete with 16.45 carats of stones and approximately 180 grams of a signature batch of 14 karats yellow gold.

There are 17 Lakers purple amethyst stones placed in the L to represent the teamโ€™s 17 championships. With .95cts of amethyst to acknowledge the 95 days, the Lakers spent in the bubble.

There are .52cts of yellow diamonds to stand for the 52 regular-season wins. Around the ring, there are 17 trophies to acknowledge the 17 championships.

Each playerโ€™s number surrounds the ring. Each number has a Mamba snake behind it that pays homage to Kobe Bryant.

The 2020-21 teamโ€™s playoff slogan, โ€œLeave a Legacyโ€ is featured. The regular-season record is featured on the side of the ring. The record of each individual playoff series is also featured on the side of the ring.
