Will Derrick Martell Rose ever win an NBA championship

Will Derrick Martell Rose ever win an NBA championship? Rose has been one of the most beloved players in the NBA since he entered the league in 2008. He has been through countless ups and downs during his 13 seasons but he was always a fan favorite.

He finished the last season with the New York Knicks, often being their best player on the court especially in the first Playoff series for the team from the โ€œBig Appleโ€ after eight years. With his quick first step and offensive aggressiveness he often reminded us of his best days from the beginning of his career with the Chicago Bulls.

Rose will turn 33 before the next season starts and with his injury history, he is aware that he doesnโ€™t have much left in the tank. He has been the league MVP, has won the Rookie of the Year award, he has multiple All-Star selections, an All-NBA first-team selection, a $185 million deal with Adidas, but one thing is missing…an NBA championship. That one thing is what makes the career of an athlete complete, and Rose will definitely try to add a championship ring to his resume.

Rose was quoted, “While I’m in the game…I wanna win a championship that’s what I really wanna do”.

“I got all the accolades that I wanted, now it’s time for me to really get the one that I really, really want.”

Being a free agent entering his 14th NBA season, Rose has an important decision to make. The way he played last season and with his current market value, he is on the wish list of many teams but it seems like he is the one who will choose. So here are three possible destinations where D-Rose might go this off-season to win that championship ring he so desperately craves.

Boston Celtics & New York Knicks & Los Angeles Lakers

The Celtics have already traded their last seasonโ€™s starting point guard Kemba Walker for the veteran big man Al Horford and have also made a coaching change. The only point guards that new coach Ime Udoka has on his rosters are Marcus Smart, Payton Pritchard, and Carsen Edwards which means that they desperately need another one.

Derrick Rose will perfectly fit in the Celtics roster and if he decides to join them he will probably be the starting point guard. Udoka is making his head coach debut with the Celtics and he will definitely want a veteran point guard to run his offense. Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown are emerging as two of the best players at their positions and to have a guy like D-Rose next to them will be exactly what they need.

It is no secret that the Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau and Derrick Rose have a very close relationship. Thibodeau was Roseโ€™s coach in Chicago, brought him in when he signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves, and did the same last year in New York. Both benefited from the collaboration since Rose got his game back to a high level with the Knicks and coach Thibs won the Coach of the year award.

Rose obviously has a lot of respect for Thibodeau and enjoys playing for him. He has openly expressed his will to sign with the Knicks but he is aware that the chances to win it all in New York are very slim.

The only real point guard on last seasonโ€™s roster that the Lakers had was Dennis Schroder. The German player is entering his prime and is willing to sign with a team that can offer him much more than the Lakers can afford which means that he is already packing his bags. Schroderโ€™s departure means that the Lakers desperately need a point guard and they have already shown interest in signing D-Rose. LeBron James has been a huge fan of Roseโ€™s game which was the crucial reason why Rose joined LeBron in Cleveland in 2017.

If Roseโ€™s priority is to play for the championship, there is no better option for him than going to LA. He will have a locked starting spot next to LeBron and Anthony Davis and if the three superstars are healthy the Lakers will be one of the favorites for the championship.

Will Derrick Martell Rose ever win an NBA championship? It’s hard to say at this point. Many people believe the idea of a healthy Derick Rose as a championship-level contender is way past over, but don’t tell that to Derrick Martell Rose.

I fell in love with the game of basketball at 15 years old. I am an avid fan of the Chicago Bulls as I am from the windy city! This blog was created as a side hobby during my sophomore year in college and I have stuck with it ever since.
